Human-centered data.
Built for real classrooms.
I now shape how schools use data through writing, research, and my work at Symplifyed.
I’m no longer offering independent consulting or project work.
Jessica Lane is the founder of Data-Informed Impact and a longtime advocate for human-centered data use in K–12 education. Her work focuses on helping educators move from overwhelming data systems to clarity, connection, and meaningful action.
Over the past decade, Jessica has worked across classrooms, coaching roles, and district systems, shaping how schools think about and use data. Her background includes roles as a data coach, instructional coach, and certified math teacher, along with a Master of Education in Learning and Technology. Her experience spans work with schools across the United States and Canada, giving her a wide lens on the realities educators face every day.
Today, Jessica shapes this work through writing, research, and her role at Symplifyed, where these ideas are built into tools and systems designed for real classrooms. She believes data is most powerful when it supports professional judgment, tells student stories, and guides decisions without replacing the people at the center of learning.
Jessica lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. When she’s not writing or thinking about education systems, she can usually be found tending to her ever-growing collection of houseplants, reading Brené Brown, or spending time with her daughter, Emmy.
